Questions

Are my images sent anywhere?

No. Reading the images and making the PDF both happen on your device. Nothing is sent out after you choose a file.

Is the location or other hidden information put into the PDF?

No. JPEG photos go in without their location, date, device and similar information. For PNG images, only the pixels go in. Other images are drawn again before they go in.

Can photos end up sideways?

No. The tool reads the orientation stored in each photo and puts the photo in the right way up.

Does the quality go down?

Most JPEG and PNG images go in as they are, so their quality stays the same. JPEG images in print colors (CMYK) and a few other JPEG images are drawn again, and 16-bit PNG images go in with 8-bit colors. WebP, GIF, HEIC and similar images are drawn again, so they can change a little.

How is an image placed on its page?

It is not cut. It is made as large as fits inside the margins, in the middle of the page. With "Same as image", the page has the size of the image.

What is the saved file called?

images.pdf. The original file names are not used.

Can I use iPhone photos (HEIC)?

Yes, in browsers that can open HEIC (mainly Safari). If yours cannot, convert the photos to JPEG or PNG first.
