How to use

Choose the error correction, the size and the colors, and check that your phone camera can read the preview.
Press "Save as PNG" or "Save as SVG" to save the code.
Questions
Is what I enter sent anywhere?
No. The QR code is made on your device.
How much text fits?
Up to 2,331 bytes with error correction M: about 2,300 letters or digits, or about 770 Japanese characters. Level L holds more and H less. The tool tells you when the text does not fit.
Which error correction should I choose?
M is the usual choice. For a printed code in a place where it can get dirty, choose Q or H. If the text does not fit, choose L.
How do I use a Wi-Fi QR code?
Scan it with the phone camera, and the phone asks whether to join that Wi-Fi network. Anyone who scans the code can see the password, so be careful who you show it to.
Can I change the colors?
Yes. Make the dots dark and the background light. If the colors are too close, or the dots are lighter than the background, some apps cannot read the code, so it cannot be saved.
What are the saved files called?
qr.png and qr.svg. SVG stays sharp at any size, which makes it good for printing.
Does the code need a margin?
Yes. Apps that read QR codes need an empty border around them, usually 4 squares wide.
